VetSuccess on Campus Counselor
As a VetSuccess on Campus counselor, Laura Ferraro aims to help Veterans, Servicemembers, and their qualified dependents succeed and thrive through a coordinated delivery of on-campus benefits assistance and counseling, leading to completion of their education and preparing them to enter the workforce.
Laura worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a vocational rehabilitation counselor before moving to DC Metro area in 2011. Since then she has worked as vocational rehabilitation specialist for the State of Maryland, as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and in 2015 was transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to work with wounded, ill and injured service members as they transition out of the service and into their next career.
Laura grew up in Western MA and attended Western New England College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and then obtained her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitative and Disabilities Studies with a concentration in psychiatric diagnosis and substance abuse counseling at Springfield College. Laura is a member of Psi Chi – The National Honor Society in Psychology and Chi Sigma Iota – Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.
